John Darbonne was born in Texas and raised in New Orleans. Working as a Writer/Director and DP in Los Angeles for companies such as Universal and National Lampoon, he has completed thirty-one feature films. He is the writer/director of the feature, COMPANION, based on his award-winning horror script, which was picked up by Level 33 for worldwide distribution, garnering him a guaranteed distribution deal.
John has a master’s degree in creative writing, is an Adjunct Professor of Media Studies at Texas A&M, and is the head of video for the University. He writes existential themes about men coming to grips with their failures, often told through the strong women in their lives.
